Veteran Kenyan actor Matayo Keya, popularly known by his stage name Alphonse Makacha Makokha, is mourning the loss of his wife, Purity Wambui.

The news was shared by Makokha's close friend and fellow actor Ondiek Nyuka Kwota, known for his role on the popular KBC show Vioja Mahakamani.

Kwota wrote a heartfelt message on Facebook announcing Wambui's passing.

"It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the Demise of Purity Wambui, beloved wife to Makokha•Makacha Aka "Babyface" Of Vioja Mahakamani On KBC Channel 1 TV," Kwota wrote.

He described Wambui as a kind and warm-hearted woman who left a positive impact on many.

Makokha, also known as "Babyface" from Vioja Mahakamani, expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from fans during this difficult time.

“She was a remarkable woman who touched many lives with her kindness and warmth,” wrote Kwota, adding, “Makacha And his family are deeply grateful for your love and support during this incredibly difficult Season.”

Many Kenyans have taken to social media to express their condolences to Makokha and his family.

Candy Gikunda offered messages of comfort saying "My sincere condolences to the entire family. May God of all comfort be with you and carry you through it all."

Flevian Mutie sent messages of strength; "Poleni sana Matayo and the entire family, may God strengthen you in these trying times. May she rest well. My condolences."

Aaroon Chemnyolei wrote, "Heartfelt condolences to the family of my favorite Makokha may Almighty Allah comfort you and your family during this tempting moment"

Lorenza Hannah also expressed her sorrow saying "My condolences to the family of makoha, may God consol their soul and given them peace that surpasses all understanding."
